Managed platform
Google Display & Video 360
Google's most powerful programmatic platform without the enterprise contract.
Plain English
What DV360 actually is
DV360 is Google's buying platform for everything outside Google Ads: display on premium publisher sites, YouTube, connected TV, audio, mobile apps and digital out-of-home, all bought through one auction interface.
It sits above Google Ads in control and complexity. You choose the publishers, the frequency, the deal type and the measurement stack which is exactly why Google sells it with a contract and a certification requirement.
Every time someone loads a page or starts a video, an auction runs in roughly 100 milliseconds. DV360 decides whether that person is worth bidding on, how much to bid, and which creative to show. It does that a few billion times a day across the accounts we run.
Nothing about the platform is beginner-friendly. That is the part we take on.
Why it works
Why DV360 outperforms
The mechanics behind the numbers, not the sales pitch.
The largest addressable inventory in the market
DV360 is the only DSP that buys YouTube programmatically alongside open-exchange display, CTV, audio, in-app and DOOH. That means one frequency cap and one budget across a person's whole day instead of five disconnected buys.
Google's own signal, applied to your outcome
Affinity, in-market and life-event segments are modelled on search and YouTube behaviour that no other DSP can see. Layer your own CRM data on top and the model bids against intent, not guesswork.
Custom bidding on the event that matters
Most platforms optimise to a click or a landing-page view. DV360 lets us score impressions against a weighted value first deposit, verified sign-up, funded account so budget follows revenue rather than traffic.
Supply-path control, not a black box
We see the exchange, the publisher and the deal behind every impression, then prune the paths that cost more for the same media. On most accounts that alone recovers 10–20% of working budget.
Measurement built in, not bolted on
Floodlight and Campaign Manager 360 sit inside the same stack, so view-through, cross-device and de-duplicated reach are native. You get one consistent number instead of three arguing dashboards.
Brand safety at enterprise grade
Pre-bid verification, allowlists, exclusion lists and category blocks run before the bid is placed the control level regulated advertisers need to stay inside their licence.
Under the hood
What happens in the 100 milliseconds before your ad appears
- Step 1
The request
A person opens a page, an app or a YouTube video. The publisher's ad server sends a bid request describing the placement, the device, the location and any available audience signal.
- Step 2
The decision
DV360 checks that request against your targeting, brand-safety rules and frequency caps, then scores how likely that person is to complete your conversion event.
- Step 3
The bid
Custom bidding turns that score into a price. High-value impressions get a higher bid; low-value ones get skipped entirely rather than bought cheaply.
- Step 4
The creative
The winning bid serves a creative chosen by format, market and language with compliance-approved variants for regulated categories.
- Step 5
The feedback loop
Floodlight reports the outcome back into the model. Every conversion makes the next day's bidding sharper, which is why performance usually improves through weeks 2–6.
